This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Versa Gage 552 Series Digimatic Caliper to a computer. Easily works with the Versa Gage 552-281 through 552-287 Calipers. Connects directly to the gage, no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
This is the ideal cable to use with a Versa Gage 552 Series caliper because it has a built-in data send button. This SmartCable Keyboard USB interface cable gets the data send process away from the caliper so your readings are accurate every time. There is no need to add the expense of a separate footswitch---but if you want use one, there is a footswitch port on the SmartCable box to be used with our 300-50 Footswitch.
Connecting this SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard interface to a computer will allow the 552 Series Versa Gage caliper to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any spreadsheet application or SPC software program as keystrokes - no messy software wedges required. And it never changes when your software updates.
The ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard gage interface will make the gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

Pressing the push button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the send button on the gage (if it has one)

This ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard Gage interface is easily configured to output data in different modes, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right continuous reading, and continuous reading with an automatic 10, 15, or 30 second delay between readings. We can also design a unique firmware for your special requirements. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
A detailed operation manual is included with each Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable Keyboard. Six-foot standard cable length—special lengths are readily available upon request.
