This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard interface connects the Ametek Chatillon DFGS, DFE II, DFS or DFIS 500 Digital Force Gauge to a computer. Connects the Chatillon Digital Force Gauge to our SmartCable™ Keyboard interface using a high quality 12-pin connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the Advanced Systems and Designs ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Chatillon DFGS, DFE II, DFS or DFIS 500 Digital Force Gauge to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The SmartCable™ Keyboard interface cable will make the Chatillon Digital Force Gauge readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be transmitted by the following:

Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing the data send button on the Chatillon Digital Force Gauge, if it has one
Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™. This SmartCable™ Keyboard interface is easily configured to output data in different modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.

A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. At the factory Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Chatillon DFGS, DFE II, DFS or DFIS 500 Digital Force Gauge. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Chatillon Digital Force Gauge are set to the same values. Refer to the Chatillon Digital Force Gauge instruction manual for more information on setting external communication.
