CDI Logic IQ, Logic ALG, or Starrett Wisdom Digital Indicator SmartCable™ USB Interface

The Chicago Dial Indicator (CDI) Logic IQ, Logic ALG, Logic ALG Illuminate, and Starrett Wisdom IQ gage can communicate via USB and RS232. These gages communicate via USB and RS232 using the same command set and protocol.
The Advanced Systems & Designs 600-11RS-USB SmartCable™ USB interface cable connects to the Chicago Dial Indicator CDI Logic IQ or Logic ALG / Starrett Wisdom indicator via the cable connector. Connecting the SmartCable™ USB to a computer enables it to transfer gage data to communication and terminal emulation tools, like as HyperTerminal, or SPC data gathering software.
Most gages are powered by batteries. The output of this SmartCable™ USB is a standard USB 2.0 COM port signal and the USB connection supplies power to the cable. This gage can obtain power directly from the SmartCable™ USB or can use separate power (batteries) of its own. Our recommendation is to remove the batteries from the gage to prevent a future problem with battery corrosion.
The 600-11RS-USB SmartCable™ USB interface cable can respond to data requests in three modes; Read Gage, Hold Gage and Clear Gage. For a more comprehensive SmartCable™ option for use with the Logic IQ or ALG, or other CDI Logic gages, see our 600-11-USB - special data format output on the gage may be required.
This SmartCable™ USB will NOT send data directly to a spreadsheet program such as Excel, without using a separate software wedge program. Please see our easy-to-use SmartCable™ Keyboard (600-11-KB-USB) if you want to send data directly to Excel.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

Pressing the send button on the SmartCable™ USB interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the send button on the gage (if it has one)

Sending a gage read command from the computer to the SmartCable™ USB
A detailed operation manual is included with each SmartCable™ USB interface. Six foot cable length, special lengths available upon request. Supplied with USB drivers.
