Connect the Mettler Toledo ME Series NewClassic Analytical Balance to a computer using this Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface. This SmartCable™ connects directly the Mettler Toledo ME Series Analytical Balance using a 9-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required.
The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable™ USB Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Mettler Toledo ME Series Analytical Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Mettler Toledo ME Series Analytical Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the Print / Transmit button on the Mettler Toledo ME Series Analytical Balance

Pressing the button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard

Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ USB gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length - special lengths available upon request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. At the factory Advanced Systems & Designs typically sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Mettler Toledo Analytical Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Mettler Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the Mettler Toledo ME Series NewClassic Analytical Balance operating instructions for more information on external communication.
