Simplify your SPC data acquisition system. This Advanced Systems and Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard USB single gage interface with Excel compatible output, connects standard digital Mitutoyo gages (indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc.) and other digital gages that mimic the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal, to a computer - gage cable not included. Gages available from Chicago Dial Indicator (CDI), Mahr Federal, Ono Sokki and others have digital outputs compatible with the Digimatic signal.
The output of this SmartCable is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. will allow the ASDQMS SmartCable gage interface to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application or explorer based SPC software package - no complicated software wedge required.
The computer USB connection provides DC power to the SmartCable Keyboard, as well as pin 9 on the Digimatic connection. Some gages may also obtain power from the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. If your gage cannot receive power from the Digimatic connection, it must have a power supply (batteries) of its own. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:
- Pressing the push button on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing the send button on the gage (if it has one)
This Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different modes, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right continuous reading, continuous reading with automatic 10, 15, or 30 second delay between readings, and others. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. A detailed operation manual is included with each SmartCable Keyboard gage interface.
