Simplify your SPC data collection system. The Ono-Sokki EG-225 gage is connected to the SmartCable Keyboard single input gage interface through the BCD output signal cable. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface connects directly to the gage, no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable USB to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no complicated software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or explorer based SPC program, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:
- Pressing the push button on the SmartCable Keyboard
- Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
- Pressing the send button on the gage (if it has one)
This SmartCable Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different modes, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right and continuous reading. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. A detailed operation manual is included with each SmartCable USB Keyboard gage interface.
