This Advanced Systems and Designs ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard, single-gage interface, connects the Shinko Denshi HJK Series Platform Balance to a computer. Our gage interface cable connects the HJK Precision Tuning Fork Platform Scale to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a DB9 female cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. We make SPC data collection easy!
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Shinko Denshi HJK Series Platform Scale to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to Word, Excel, Notepad or any SPC data collection application - no software wedge is necessary. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the Shinko Denshi HJK Series Platform Scale digital readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and initiate a reading.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

Pressing the push button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the Print button on the Shinko Denshi HJK Series Platform Scale
Simple to set-up, simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems and Designs factory settings on this SmartCable Keyboard are normally the default settings on the Shinko Denshi HJK Series Platform Scale. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface and Shinko Denshi HJK Series Platform Scale must be set to the same values. Refer to the Shinko Denshi HJK Series operation manual for more information on external RS232 communication.
