The Scientech High Capacity Series Electronic Balance has a steel construction and is designed for up to 65 pounds. Connect the Scientech SHC Electronic Balance to a computer using this ASDQMS - Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface. This SmartCable™ connects directly the Scientech HC Series Electronic Balance using a 9-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required.
Our Keyboard interface always works even when operating or SPC software is updated. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable™ USB Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Scientech High Capacity Electronic Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Scientech Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the PRINT button on the Scientech Electronic Balance

Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
This Scientech High Capacity Electronic Balance can send data either by pressing the SEND button on the balance or using request commands built into the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface.
Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ USB gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length with custom lengths available upon request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Scientech SHC Electronic Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Scientech High Capacity Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the Scientech High Capacity Series Electronic Balance setup and operating procedures for more information on external communication.
