SmartCable™ Gage Interface for Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance
Send data to Excel - without using Software Wedges
This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance with YADAP-RS interface to a computer. Connects the Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance to the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin male cable connector. Please note, the optional Sartorius YADAP-RS serial interface is required for this balance to send data to a peripheral device. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
This ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Using the print / send button on the Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance.

Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
Simple to set-up and use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable™ gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available upon request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface to the default settings on the Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the Sartorius PMA Electronic Balance and optional YADAP-RS interface user manual for more information on external communication.
