Mahr Federal PocketSurf Gage SmartCable™ Interface Cable
Send data to SPC data collection programs
The Mahr Federal or Fowler PocketSurf Portable Surface Roughness Gage is connected to the RS232 SmartCable™ gage interface using a high quality 3-pin connector. This SmartCable™ connects directly to the gage - no additional cables required. The Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS RS232 output SmartCable™ gage interface connects the Mahr Federal PocketSurf gage to a computer 9-pin serial port and will allow the gage to send data to communication and terminal emulation programs (i.e. HyperTerminal) or any SPC data collection software program. This single input RS232 data acquisition gage interface led the industry in offering users a single-input interface option at a time when manufacturers wanted you to buy more ports at each station.
NOTE: This SmartCable™ will NOT send data directly to a spreadsheet program, such as Excel, without using an additional software wedge program. Please see our SmartCable™ Keyboard (600-22-PS-KB-USB) if you want to send data directly to Excel or Explorer based SPC program.

This SmartCable™ RS232 quickly configures itself and power is supplied to the RS232 SmartCable™ using the computer 9-pin connection. All of our SmartCable™ RS232 interfaces are designed with the harsh shop-floor environment in mind. A detailed operation manual is included with the RS232 SmartCable™ gage interface.
