Send data from your Evident / Olympus 38DL Plus Ultrasonic Thickness Gage directly to Excel or other spreadsheet programs! This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single-gage interface connects the Olympus 38DL Plus Ultrasonic Thickness Gage to a computer.
The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Olympus 38DL Plus Ultrasonic Thickness Gage to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Olympus 38DL Plus Ultrasonic Thickness Gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or explorer based SPC software, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the SAVE / SEND button on the Olympus 38DL Thickness Gage
Simple to use, Simple to set-up.
LED indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right, continuous, and continuous with 10, 15, and 30 second delays. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Olympus 38DL Plus Ultrasonic Thickness Gage. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Olympus 38DL Thickness Gage are set to the same values. Refer to the Olympus 38DL Plus Ultrasonic Thickness Gage user manual for more information on interface serial communication.
