This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the Olympus 25 Multi-Plus Thickness Gage to a computer and sends data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. Connects the Olympus 25 Multi-Plus to the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface using a high quality 6-pin cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Olympus 25 Multi-Plus Thickness Gage to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC program - no messy software wedge required. The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Olympus 25 Multi-Plus Thickness Gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the SEND button on the Olympus 25 Multi-Plus Thickness Gage

Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Olympus 25 Multi-Plus Thickness Gage. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Olympus 25 Multi-Plus are set to the same values. Refer to the Olympus 25 Multi-Plus Thickness Gage precision thickness gage user manual for more information on external communication.

LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ Keyboard. This SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
