This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single-gage interface connects the Ohaus Adventurer Precision Balance to a computer. Our gage interface cable connects the Ohaus Adventurer Precision Balance to the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. We make SPC data collection easy!
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Ohaus Adventurer Precision Balance to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface will make the Ohaus Adventurer Precision Balance digital readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC software programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

Pressing the push button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the Print button on the Ohaus Adventurer Precision Balance
Simple to set-up, simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs factory settings on this SmartCable™ Keyboard are normally the default settings on the Ohaus Adventurer AR Precision Balance. The SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface and Ohaus Adventurer Precision Balance must be set to the same values. Refer to the Ohaus Adventurer Precision Balance instruction manual for more information on external RS232 communication.
