This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the Mitutoyo 318 Series VL-50-B Litematic Measuring Unit to a computer. Connects the Mitutoyo Litematic Instrument to the SmartCable™ Keyboard using a 9-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Along with the standard SmartCable™ Keyboard interface output modes, this model provides a continuous mode for tracking deflection of a sample over long periods with the highly accurate Mitutoyo 318 Series Litematic Instrument. Continuous modes of instantaneous, 10 second intervals, 15 second intervals, 30 second intervals, and 60 second intervals are built into this SmartCable™ Keyboard interface. Connecting the Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Litematic High Accuracy Digital Measuring Instrument to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Mitutoyo 318 Series Litematic readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.

Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. See above for continuous output options. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. A detailed operation manual is included with each SmartCable™ Keyboard.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available upon request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Mitutoyo Litematic Measuring Unit. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Mitutoyo Litematic Measuring Instrument are set to the same values. Refer to the Litematic VL-50-B user manual for more information on RS-232C external communication.
