This Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Metlogix Mx200 Digital Readout to a computer. Attaches the Metlogix digital display to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a RS232 DB9 female cable connector---no additional cables required.
This SmartCable USB gage interface allows the user to send multiple fields (X, Y, Z or X, Y, Q axes) in Excel or SPC programs with the push of a button. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Metlogix Mx200 Readout to be identified as a keyboard device that can send X, Y, Z or X, Y, Q data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
This SmartCable Keyboard gage interface package will easily make the Metlogix Mx200 digital readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or your SPC software program, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered from the Metlogix Mx200by the following:
- Pressing the print / send button (or operator pre-set soft keys) on the Metlogix Mx200 Digital Readout
Simple to set-up!
To output data from the Mx200 system 2 or 3 axis systems with X, Y, Z or X, Y, Q axes in different modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, or repeated TABs followed by CR, simply configure the SmartCable interface. The SmartCable Keyboard's rotary switch is used to change the output mode. Simply unscrew the two Phillips screws holding the top cover in place to gain access to the rotary switch. LED Indicator lights aid the user when operating the SmartCable gage interface.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems and Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface to the default settings on the Metlogix Mx200 Digital Readout. Make sure both the SmartCable and Metlogix Digital Readout are set to the same values. Refer to the Metlogix Mx200 Digital Readout user manual for more information on external RS232 communication.
