This Advanced Systems and Designs (ASDQMS) gage interface with keyboard output sends data directly to Microsoft Excel, Explorer-based SPC programs, or other spreadsheet programs without using complicated software wedges. The SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Mark-10 Series BG | BGI Series Digital Force Torque Indicator Gauge to a computer. Connects the Mark-10 Digital Force Gauge to the SmartCable™ Keyboard using a 9-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge will allow the SmartCable™ gage interface to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface will make the Mark-10 Digital Force Gauge readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the DATA key on the Mark-10 BG | BGI Series Digital Force Torque Indicator Gauge

Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available on request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the SmartCable™ and the Mark-10 Series BG | BGI Series Digital Force Gauge. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Mark-10 Digital Force Gauge. Make sure both the SmartCable™ gage interface and Mark-10 Digital Force Gauge are set to the same values. Refer to the Mark-10 Series BG or BGI Series Digital Force Gauge user guide for more information on external communication.
