This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the LMI Diamondback Digital Indicator to a computer. Converts the LMI Diamondback Indicator RS232C serial port connector to Excel output using the standard LMI cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting this SmartCable™ USB Keyboard with its built-in hardware wedge to a computer will convert the LMI Diamondback Digital Indicator to a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The Advanced Systems and Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard will make the gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard computer keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or other SPC software program, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and trigger the reading using one of the methods below.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the built-in button on the ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the send data button on the LMI Diamondback Indicator
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of our SmartCable™ USB gage interface. This ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode from your LMI Diamondback Digital Indicator is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws. A user operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard gage interface.
Six foot standard cable length. All of our SmartCable™ USB gage interfaces with keyboard output are available in custom lengths on request.
