SmartCable Keyboard for Heidenhain ND 780 Multi-Field Readout

This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface cable connects the Heidenhain ND780 Digital Position Display to a computer to send data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. Connects the Heidenhain ND780 Digital Readout to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a DB9 female cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Heidenhain ND780 Digital Readout to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC program - no complicated software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Heidenhain Digital Display readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
NOTE: This ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard will send the X reading on the Heidenhain ND 780 Display. Where possible, the user can develop soft keys on the Heidenhain Digital Display to send individual readings of X, Y or Z.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the send or PRINT key on the Heidenhain ND780 Digital Position Display

Pressing a footswitch connected to the Heidenhain Display

Pressing the button on the ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch on this SmartCable Keyboard (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default communication settings on the Heidenhain ND780 Display. Make sure both the SmartCable and Heidenhain Digital Display are set to the same values. Refer to the Heidenhain ND780 Digital Readout operating instructions for more information on external communication.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length. All of our SmartCable Keyboard gage interfaces are available in special lengths upon request.
