SmartCable Keyboard for General Electric CL5 Thickness Gauge

This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the General Electric CL5 Inspection Technologies Thickness Gauge to a computer and sends data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. Requires the GE RS-232 serial adaptor cable to first connect to the micro 9-pin female connector on the General Electric CL5 Thickness Gauge. This SmartCable Keyboard gage interface then attaches to the GE RS-232 serial adaptor cable using a 9-pin female cable connector. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the General Electric CL5 Thickness Gauge to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC program - no complicated software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard will make the General Electric CL5 Inspection Technologies Thickness Gauge readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and trigger a reading.

Pressing the SEND button on the General Electric CL5 Thickness Gauge
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the General Electric CL5 Thickness Gauge. The SmartCable Keyboard and the General Electric CL5 Thickness Gauge must be set to the same RS232 communication values. Refer to the General Electric CL5 Inspection Technologies Thickness Gauge operating manual for more information on external communication and connecting to a peripheral device.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length. All of our SmartCable Keyboard gage interfaces are available in custom lengths upon request.
