Ohaus Discovery Series Balance FlashCable® with Digimatic Output
Send data to our GageMux® gage interface
This FlashCable® gage interface is engineered to change the output on the Ohaus Discovery Semi-Micro Analytical Balance to an output in a Digimatic format. The 9-pin male connector on the FlashCable® gage interface connects to the female connector on the Ohaus Discovery Series Balance. This FlashCable® gage interface is designed to work with our GageMux® or other devices that recognize the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal.
The FlashCable® does not obtain any power from the gage. The GageMux® gage interface provides the power to the FlashCable®. If using devices other than the GageMux® gage interface, pin 9 of the 10-pin connector needs to provide 5VDC power to the FlashCable® gage interface. Contact us for more infromation if you are using a device other than our GageMux® gage interface.
When the FlashCable® interface cable is properly connected to the GageMux®, the LED on the FlashCable® turns GREEN. The LED will briefly turn RED when data is sent or a data request is triggered from the GageMux® gage interface.
The data transfer can be triggered using any of the following methods:

Using the PRINT key on the Ohaus Discovery Balance

Using the Footswitch on the GageMux® USB or equivalent triggering method

Using our 300-1S in-line handswitch

Using a Footswitch on the FlashCable® (not included)

Sending a gage read command from the computer to the gage
A detailed operation manual is provided with this FlashCable® gage interface. The communication parameters on the Ohaus RS232 interface must match the communication parameters on the FlashCable® gage interface. The factory settings on Advanced Systems & Designs FlashCable® gage interface are normally set to the default settings on the Ohaus Discovery Series Balance. Refer to the Ohaus Discovery Balance instruction manual for more information on external communication.
