This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single-gage interface connects the Edmunds TOL 2200 Ultra Precision Digital Display with 15-pin RS232 interface to a computer. Our SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single-gage interface allows you to send data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. This ASDQMS gage interface connects to the Edmunds TOL 2200 Digital Display using a 15-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Edmunds TOL 2200 Digital Display to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC program - no software wedge required.
The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Edmunds TOL 2200 Digital Display flow readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard to eliminate data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and use one of the following methods to collect data.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pushing the front panel PRINT switch on the Edmunds TOL 2200 Digital Display

Using a footswitch connected to the rear panel of the Edmunds TOL 2200 Digital Display

Pressing the button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Edmunds TOL 2200 Ultra Precision Digital Display. Refer to the Edmunds TOL 2200 Ultra Precision Digital Display instruction and maintenance manual for more information on RS232 communication and communication with external devices.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ Keyboard. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
