Product Description
FlashCable® Gage Interface for Keyence Laser with DL-RS1A Communication Unit
Sends data to our GageMux® or similar devices
This FlashCable® gage interface is engineered to change the output on the Keyence IG Series LaserMike with DL-RS1A Communication Unit to an output in a Digimatic format. The 9-pin male connector on the Advanced Systems & Designs FlashCable® connects to Keyence 9-pin OP-81283 optional cable for the Keyence DL-RS1A Communication Unit. Can also be design with a pigtail lead to connect directly to the RS232C Communication Unit. Please contact us for more information.
This FlashCable® gage interface is designed to work with our GageMux® or other similar devices that recognize the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal.
The FlashCable® gage interface does not obtain any power from the gage. When connected to the GageMux®, pin 9 of the 10-pin input port provides the power to the FlashCable®. If using devices, other than the GageMux®, make sure pin 9 of the 10-pin connector provides a 5VDC supply to the FlashCable® gage interface.
When the FlashCable® gage interface is connected to the GageMux®, the LED on the FlashCable® turns GREEN. This indicates that the FlashCable® gage interface is connected properly. The LED turns RED when the data is being sent or a data request is triggered.
The data transfer can be triggered using any of the following methods:
- Using the data send button on the Keyence IG Series LaserMike
- Sending a gage read command from the computer to the Keyence IG Series LaserMike
- Contact us if you want to send data using one of the following methods:
-
Using our 300-1S in-line handswitch
-
Using a Footswitch on the FlashCable® (not included)
-
Using the Footswitch on the GageMux® USB (or equivalent triggering method on similar devices
A detailed operation manual is included with this FlashCable® gage interface. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the FlashCable® gage interface and the Keyence DL-RS1A Communication Unit. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the FlashCable® gage interface to the default settings on the Keyence DL-RS1A Communication Unit. Make sure both the Keyence DL-RS1A and FlashCable® gage interface are set to the same values. Refer to the Keyence DL-RS1A user manual for more information on external communication.
