This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable™ USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the Brown and Sharpe 1025 Electronic Gage Amplifier to a computer. Connects the Brown and Sharpe Model 1025 to the SmartCable™ Keyboard using a 25-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required.
The output of the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Brown and Sharpe Model 1025 to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required.
The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Brown and Brown and Sharpe 1025 Electronic Gage Amplifier readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Using the SEND key on the Brown and Sharpe 1025 Electronic Gage Amplifier

Depressing a Brown & Sharpe footswitch connected to the device

Pressing the push button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available upon request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. At the factory Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Brown and Sharpe Electronic Gage Amplifier. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Brown and Sharpe 1025 Electronic Gage Amplifier are set to the same values. Refer to the Brown and Sharpe 1025 Electronic Gage Amplifier operating manual for more information on external communication.
