The SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface makes connecting your Ohaus Digital Electronic Balance RS232 output to your computer simple. With its standard 9-pin connector, you can plug your Ohaus Electronic Balance directly into the SmartCable™ Keyboard - no extra cables needed. It works through a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal, making data collection straightforward and hassle-free.

Once connected, your computer recognizes Ohaus Digital Balance as a regular keyboard device - no special software needed. Your Ohaus Balance numeric readings show up in any Microsoft Windows program as if you typed them yourself, completely eliminating manual data entry errors. Want to record measurements in Excel or other SPC software? Just click where you want the numbers to go.

The built-in LED lights help guide you through using the SmartCable™ Keyboard interface. You can easily customize how data appears in your spreadsheet - whether you want it followed by a return, tab, or directional movement. Just adjust the rotary switch under the top cover (removed with two Phillips screws) to change these settings.

Every SmartCable™ Keyboard comes with a detailed manual. We've preset the interface to match the standard settings on your Ohaus Digital Electronic Balance, but both devices need to use the same communication settings. Check your Ohaus manual for details about RS232 communication settings.
