The Ametek Crystal Pressure XP2i Digital Test Gauge can allow you to record displayed readings and recorded peaks and can be operated remotely using our SmartCable™ Keyboard. This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Ametek XP2i Digital Test Gauge from Crystal Engineering to a computer. Connects the Crystal Pressure XP2i Digital Gauge to the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Crystal Pressure XP2i Test Gauge to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the Ametek Crystal Pressure XP2i Digital Test Gauge readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
The normal setting for this SmartCable™ Keyboard is to request a pressure reading from the Crystal Pressure XP2i Test Gauge. Please contact us if you need the SmartCable™ Keyboard to send a different reading from the gauge.
Readings can be triggered by the following:
- Pressing the button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard

LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ USB gage interface. This SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.

A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the Ametek XP2i Digital Test Gauge. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and Ametek XP2i Digital Test Gauge are set to the same values. Refer to the Ametek Crystal Engineering XP2i Digital Test Gauge operation manual and programming instructions for more information on external communication.
