This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard single gage interface connects the Acu-Rite 200 or300S Readout Display to a computer to send data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. Connects the Acu-Rite Readout Display to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
The Acu-Rite 200/300S Readout Display has two operating modes - Incremental and Absolute (Actual Value). The actual value mode used for this SmartCable Keyboard and records the current “actual” position of the tool.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Acu-Rite 200/300S Readout Display to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC program - no messy software wedge required.
The SmartCable Keyboard will make the Acu-Rite 200 or 300S Readout Display readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and trigger a reading.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Using the external footswitch port on the Acu-Rite 200/300S Readout

Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a footswitch (not included) connected to this SmartCable Keyboard
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the Acu-Rite 200/300S Readout. Make sure both the SmartCable and Acu-Rite Readout are set to the same values. Refer to the Acu-Rite 200S or 300S Readout Display reference manual for more information on external communication.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
