The Aalborg TIO Totalizer Input / Output Flow Monitor Controller is a microcontroller device designed to display flow rate. This product is designed to be used primarily with Aalborg GFM or GFC analog flow meters. Advanced Systems & Designs sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to read the current flow. This Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single-gage interface connects the Aalborg TIO Flow Monitor with RS232 interface to a computer. Our SmartCable™ USB Keyboard single-gage interface allows you to send data to Excel or other spreadsheet programs. This gage interface will connect to the Aalborg TIO Flow Monitor using a 9-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the Aalborg TIO Flow Monitor with GFM or GFC analog flow meters to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC program - no software wedge required.
The SmartCable™ Keyboard will compose the Aalborg TIO Flow Monitor digital readings to appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard to eliminate data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and use one of the following methods to collect data.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Using the continuous read function built in to the SmartCable™ Keyboard
An operation manual is included with this SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default RS232 communication settings on the Aalborg TIO Totalizer Flow Monitor. Refer to the Aalborg TIO Totalizer Input / Output Flow Monitor Controller operating manual for more information on RS232 communication and communication with external devices.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™ Keyboard. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
All of our SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interfaces have a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Six foot standard cable length. Special lengths are readily available upon request.
