SmartCable Keyboard for A&D HR / FX Series Balance
Send data directly to Excel---No Software Wedge Required
This Advanced Systems & Designs - ASDQMS SmartCable USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the A&D HR or FX Precision Balance to a computer. Connects the HR or FX Series Balance to the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface using a 9-pin female cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the SmartCable to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application (like Excel) or internet explorer based SPC program - no messy software wedge required. The SmartCable Keyboard gage interface will make the A & D Precision Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect SPC data into a Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing the send or enter button on the A&D Balance, if it has one

Pressing the button on the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
A detailed operation manual is included with this SmartCable Keyboard. The communication parameters can be changed and reconfigured per requirements for both the SmartCable and the device. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable Keyboard to the default settings on the A&D HR / FX Precision Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable and A&D Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the A&D HR or FX Precision Balance user manual for more information on external communication.
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable Keyboard gage interface. This SmartCable Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
