This ASDQMS - Advanced Systems & Designs SmartCable™ USB Keyboard, single gage interface, connects the A&D GX Industrial Scale to a computer. Connects the A&D GX Balance to the SmartCable™ Keyboard using a 25-pin male cable connector---no additional cables required. The output of the SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal.
Connecting the ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard with its built-in keyboard wedge to a computer will allow the A&D Multi-Function GX Industrial Scale to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application - no software wedge required. The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the A & D GX Industrial Balance readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard - eliminates data collection errors. If you want to collect data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Explorer based SPC programs, simply select the cell where you want the data to appear and trigger a reading.
Readings can be triggered by the following:

Pressing a PRINT key on the A&D GX Industrial Balance

Pressing the push button on the SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
Simple to use!
LED Indicator lights aid the user with the operation of the SmartCable™. This SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different output modes on your spreadsheet, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, or right. The output mode is selected by adjusting the rotary switch on the SmartCable™ Keyboard. To access the rotary switch, simply remove the top cover by loosening two Phillips screws.
Six foot standard cable length with special lengths available upon request.
A detailed operation manual is included with this ASDQMS SmartCable™ Keyboard gage interface. Advanced Systems & Designs normally sets the SmartCable™ Keyboard to the default settings on the A&D GX Series Industrial Balance. Make sure both the SmartCable™ and A&D Industrial Balance are set to the same values. Refer to the A&D GX Series Multi-Function Scale instruction Balance for more information on use of the built in RS-232C serial interface.
