Starrett Updated Digital 795.1 Micrometer SmartCable™ Gage Interface
Sends data to SPC data programs
Eliminate data collection errors. The updated Starrett 795.1 digital micrometer is connected to this Advanced Systems & Designs 795.1SCU SmartCable™ gage interface using the standard SPC data connector on the gage. Connecting the SmartCable™ USB gage interface to a computer will allow the SmartCable™ USB and Starrett micrometer to be detected as a COM port (or virtual Com Port) and send data to communication and terminal emulation programs (i.e. HyperTerminal) or any SPC data collection software program. The output of the SmartCable™ USB gage interface is a standard USB 2.0 COM port signal and the USB connection provides power to the SmartCable™ gage interface.
Note: This SmartCable™ USB will NOT send data directly to a spreadsheet program such as Excel without using a separate software wedge program. Please see our SmartCable™ Keyboard (600-129-KB-USB) if you want to send data directly to Excel or Explorer based SPC programs.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:

Pressing the send button on the SmartCable USB gage interface

Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)

Pressing the send button on the gage

Sending a gage read command from the host computer to the SmartCable USB
A detailed operation manual is included with the 600-129-USB SmartCable USB. Six foot cable length; special lengths readily available upon request.
